Nick Weddell

Nick Weddell is a sculptor from Austin, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics from Texas State University (2016) and a Master of Fine Arts from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (2019). Weddell creates metamorphosed versions of everyday objects ranging from cups to armchairs in order to catalyze a celebration of that which is and a challenge to seek that which could be. Weddell’s work is an arbiter of progress, a wrecking ball of convention, and above all a harbinger of joy.

In 2019, Nick Weddell was a visiting artist at the Center for Contemporary Ceramics at California State University Long Beach and was a resident artist in Versailles, France. In 2021, he completed a long-term artist-in-residence at the Archie Bray Foundation in Montana.

Most recently, Nick was featured at Design Miami with Jason Jacques Gallery.

Weddell’s artwork is the permanent collection of the Dallas Art Museum and Everson Museum of Art, as well as several private collections in the United States, Australia, China, Japan, Europe, and Canada. In 2021, his sculpture was featured at the Museu De Arts, Paris France.
