The Nevica Project

Veronica Bruce

Beginning at a very young age, Veronica Bruce’s artistic abilities and talent were recognized. From those early beginnings Veronica’s inner drive to create has guided her into a multifaceted studio practice, which focuses on the making and breaking of space. Whether working with found objects and studio debris, photographing her process, or painting on paper, her circumstances and interest in deciphering the interconnectedness of actions fuel her work. Rooted in the vocabulary of painting, she views the aesthetic process and materials as symbols of authenticity, freedom, and transformation.
Veronica Bruce (b. 1982) attended the College of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois in Urbana – Champaign where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education in 2004. She completed her Master of Fine Arts in Painting through the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2011.
