Beth Cavener
stoneware
22 x 20 x 10"
circa mid 90's

It was made before she was in grad school at Ohio State. The oldest piece I have ever scheme on the market.

She took vertebrae bones and turned those into creature type sculptures, which this one was along that idea/series.   It was done in the mid 90's.  She did a few in this series, then went on to do a spider along these lines and a clockwork bee etc.... She did not start the goats and hares, that she is known for, until her last year at OSU when her thesis professor Malcolm suggested that type of work.
