Magda Gluszek
Magda Gluszek is a contemporary sculptor who uses clay and mixed media to create her figurative work. She completed an MFA in ceramics at University of Florida in 2008 and was a 2008/2009 resident artist at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Magda currently creates her work in the clay resident studios at Roswell Art Center West in Roswell, Georgia. Her figures investigate different modes of self-representation through experimenting with objects that affect their appearance and bodily movement. These accoutrements serve as a means to an end; as vehicles used to create an image of desire. Magda’s work has been exhibited nationally in exhibitions such as the NCECA 2008 Invitational Exhibition at the Society for Contemporary Craft, Pittsburgh, PA; LaGrange National Biennial XXV at the Lamar Dodd Art Center, GA; and Fresh Blood at Mason Murer Fine Art, Atlanta, GA.
