Daniel Evans was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. At Morehead State University, clay seduced him away from his budding horticultural career and across the U.S. From 2001-2003, he was a Resident Artist at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana. He received his MFA in ceramics from the prestige NY State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2005. Evans' work has been exhibited at SOFA Chicago, and recently, at NCECA's 2007 Clay National Biennial Exhibition. His sculptures and vessels are in numerous collections across the U.S. and Australia. He currently lives in Bloomington, Indiana, with his wife, Shu-Mei Chan, and heads the Ceramics Department at Vincennes University in southern Indiana. He has recently founded the Bloomington Clay Studio, in Bloomington, Indiana.
